Shine Vine Stun (Nerfed or Bug?)

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:54 PM PDT

its says level one is 2 second stun, it looks to me it took only 0.5 second. Then i Wonder if not 2 second stun, then they mean its 2 second per attack speed?

    So what do you think?

When you time the plant food effect of primal potato mine at the end of an arena match, the potatoes levitate lol. Not sure if this works with a normal potato mine

It turns out, all you need is these plants to get a good score. I didn't even use any electric peashooters.

What is with Popcap and speeding up the pace of their games?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 10:08 PM PDT

    Garden Warfare Series:

Garden Warfare 2 has a higher ttk than Garden Warfare Classic because of damage upgrades, maps became smaller and more narrow, increasing more brutal, less complex face to face combat. All the new plant classes are arguably generalists with their effectiveness at all ranges. (important to note citron was later reworked to only be effective at close-range, but even then his ability to close distance makes this a series of buffs and nerfs to variants) All of the new zombies are designed to be good at close range in some way. On top of this, these introduced classes only have abilities that promote self-preservation, (Rose doesn't benefit from assisting others, no matter how much anyone claims that she's a 'support role') creating a more violent, honestly more braindead game. Many classes are redesigned in Battle for Neighborville for greater teamwork, but the game's maps are even more flat, simple, and claustrophobic and the addition of sprinting completely changed the game and made it faster. Defusing gnome bombs is faster, capturing points in suburbination takes less time, and turf takeover now only has 4 points.

    Heroes:

It's well known over on the heroes subreddit (you know, where we keep the crazy people /s) that the release version of the game was notably slower than it is today. Set 2, 3, and 4 came and introduced many more superior cards. The ultimate goal of the game, winning before your opponent does, has created the ultimate strive to create the most competitive decks. Decks became perfected and cards of the past were replaced, like Dark Matter Dragonfruit replacing Cornucopia as the most popular late-game plant finisher, the Guardian class becoming saturated with the same cards like Spikeweed and Galacta-Cactus in every deck, and Going Viral now defines the Hearty class. Of course, the neglect the game has received also has a part in giving the time to make better competitive decks, but it's obvious that this is also in Popcap's doing.

    Tower Defense Titles:

This is where the change of pace is really noticeable. The levels PvZ Classic were long and drawn out with several flags per level, sun production was lower, and the amount of zombies that came in each 'segment' was (zombies that arrive after a certain amount have been killed or after a certain time specifically, those that arrive after the first basic dies) lower too. PvZ 2 makes shorter levels with less flags and bigger segments, often with entire flags after the first basic dies. This, combined with extra sun production makes a much faster experience. I haven't played PvZ 3, but with only two flags and automated sun-production, you can see how this series has changed.

So that asks the question. Why? Is this an actual goal of Popcap to make the games quicker? Is this just a trend of video games in general? Is this coincidence and nitpicking? I just want to know.

Do I stand a chance in Penny's Pursuit?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2020 06:00 PM PDT

Reinstalled only last week after years hiatus Completely F2P (no premium and not enough seed for seedium and Idk what gemium is good these days). All my plants range level 1-3 and haven't finished all worlds except the first 3 and dipped 1/4 into a few other worlds for those really good cheese plants like shrooms, primals and random stuff.

Do my low level plants stand a chance in PP? I'm beyond struggling in 1pepper difficulty. Is PP worth it since I'm so early-game? All playthroughs have level 7+ plants and I'm pretty discouraged rn. Any tips?

Can an 'epic quest' of bonus levels for a world only be completed for 100 gems once, or I can replay it every time it cycles up?
