How to change save data from PvZ Hard Mode?

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 10:00 PM PST

I was on the level 5-4 and was trying to find a way to beat it with 6 seed slots, when I accidentally clicked on the Zen Garden watering can, which brought me to 5-5 with no way of getting to 5-4. I can't for the life of me find the save data as everything is chinese or obfuscated. There's no user1 file or anything like that, someone plz help I don't want to replay all of hard mode just to get to one level :'(

My current progress in the PvZ 2 No Sun-producing Plants playthrough

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 10:56 AM PST

Sorry for the long post, amirite?

After watching a few videos about PvZ 1, including one about a no sun plant run, I've decided to give the challenge a shot on the sequel, seeing as it's been a while since the last time I've played this game.
    The rules are as such:

    - I am using a blank save file. No previous progress is allowed.

    - Buying premium plants/upgrades/other content is cheating (but it's not like I would buy them otherwise).

    - Gemium plants are good-to-go, but gems must be obtained in the F2P way.

    - No sun producing plants, obviously. That means no Sunflower, Twin Sunflower, Sun-shroom, Sun Bean, Gold Bloom, Gold Leaf, Primal Sunflower, Moonflower, Solar Tomato, Toadstool, Enlighten-mint or any other sun producing plant I may have forgotten to mention here.

    - Plants must not be upgraded: let's fight predatory monetization! This consecutively means the peashooter is banned after the game forces you to upgrade it whenever you enter the Almanac (I've tried skipping the tutorial to no avail).

    - If the goal of the level is to produce X sun, you may plant sun producing plants, BUT, you mustn't pick up any sun they produce (it still counts towards the goal).

    - Sun tiles in Lost City are banned except when the goal is to produce X sun, but in that case, you can't use sun producing plants.

    - Boosts from the Zen Garden are legal; they might even be necessary.

    - Lastly, powerups are bad and not to be used.

    - Arena battles are fought under the rules above.
My journey so far has been rather smooth: I completed the first few levels no problem, then went to Jurrasic Marsh ASAP to get Primal Peashooter and Primal Wall-nut, after getting which I was able to beat the first three worlds without issue, getting all of the crucial upgrades.

One weird level was a specific, possibly the last, corral level in the Wild West; for the first few waves, all you have are peashooters. Since plant levels are evil, I decided to plant only one and instantly dig up any new ones. I emulated a level 1 Peashooter by waiting about 1.5 seconds after the plant killed a zombie to move the minecart (the extra HP didn't make a difference either) and dug the original up as soon as I got the Repeater.

After finishing those worlds, I knew the rest would be a bit less of a breeze, especially when I wouldn't be getting sun from the sky. I beelined to Stalia and Puff Shroom, hitting a few roadblocks, the first being level 12 in Lost City. It's a sun producing level, so I, in accordance with the rules, of course, used the sun tiles without picking up the sun they produced. The problem was the Gargantuar along with a general lack of firepower, but after I realized you can stall Gargs with Primal Wall-Nut, I was able to complete the level no problem.

Dark ages 1 and 2 weren't too difficult since you're able to use the grave buster to quickly get sun from the sun graves, so unlocking Puff Shroom was easier than I thought.

After that, I dipped into Far Future for Laser Bean and went to complete as many Dark Ages levels as I could. I had an extremely difficult encounter with level 8, as it's a level with set seeds and also the first set of sun graves is ALL the sun you'll ever get there (enough for 4 Fume Shrooms and one Wall-Nut), but if you play your cards *just* right, remember the zombie spawn points and get lucky enough, you'll survive with 0 lawnmowers left and the last zombie hypnotized. The last level I've managed to complete here is 15, because 16 is where King Zombies make their debut, accompanied by a few other issues. However, I'm confident I can beat the level with a few appropriate boosts.

Or, I thought, maybe I need Garlic to stand a better chance here? So I went to NMT, where I just beat level 26. One issue in this world was level 9 since it's another level with set seeds, but the seeds include Peashooter, Phat Beet and a few other stalling plants (and Sunflower). The zombies there are quite overwhelming and the level has three waves, so I resorted to a boosted Iceberg Lettuce, which worked well enough.

That's how far I've made it up to this point in time. Of course, a bunch of very difficult levels await me, but I have high hopes for this run.

Here's a list of noteworthy plants in no particular order:

    - Potato Mine: your best friend for the first few worlds. Helps you take care of those early zombies in order to set up actual defences on all lanes.

    - Iceberg Lettuce: it's free, it stalls, it's perfect and great at, so far, all points in the game.

    - Stalia: read above.

    - Grave Buster: very useful in Ancient Egypt and invaluable in Dark Ages, helps you take out graves you never would've taken out with your measly damage output.

    - Puff Shroom: an incredible offensive plant. It's free, it stalls in a pinch and has a great plant food effect that postpones the need for more powerful plants.

    - (Primal) Wall-Nut: early on, you're going to want to sacrifice some time to take care of a troublesome zombie, which is where these two come in. But as the Wall-Nut becomes nigh-useless later on, its primal counterpart is exceptional at stopping hard-hitting (AKA insta-killing) zombies.

    - Laser Bean: expensive for its coverage, but great crowd control. Works best in last stand levels.

    - Primal Peashooter & Red Stinger: very strong damage dealers for their cost; you'll be using these as your heaviest hitters quite often, especially when crowds aren't a big issue yet.

    - Lightning Reed: amazing at taking care of the early part of a level, especially before unlocking Puff Shroom, since it can target one of 3 lanes, and is great at crowd control. Will see even more use in the coming days.

    - Ghost Pepper: the first gemium I bought and an old favourite. It's just good and efficient.

    - Homing Thistle: many find this plant underpowered, but it fits my needs perfectly. It provides covering fire for my Puff Shrooms on all lanes, helping them take out zombies that they wouldn't be able to take down themselves well due to their limitations. Additionally, you can plant one pretty early in the level.
So what do you think? And what should I look out for?

If you want more detail about a certain level, zombie, strategy, plant etc. in this challenge, feel free to ask and I'll respond as soon as I am able to. If you want to impose another arbitrary limitation, I'll see if I can manage it. Your engagement is appreciated.
