My Favorite Plants with Stephen!: Power Lily!

    Posted: 27 Jan 2021 08:45 PM PST

Another week, another episode of 'Favorite Plants' with the great-but-never-late Stephen Notley!

    POWER LILY

Utility plants don't usually get as much love as the big damage-dealers, but you know what they say about utility: it's useful! And so is Power Lily, albeit with limitations.

Plant Food is THE big gameplay innovation from PvZ to PvZ2, as big as Power Gems from Bejeweled to Bejeweled 2. Being able to super-charge a plant in a clutch moment is what Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time is all about (other than Time). Every plant can be a hero with a ferocious blast of power. How often, in fraught battle to maintain the integrity of your brains, have those brains thought, "Dang, I could use a Plant Food right about now!"? Lots? Well, Power Lily can make that happen for you. Boom. She's plantable Plant Food. Done. Toss that PF onto an Imp Pear and THUD -- 5+ zombies are imps. NICE. How about another one, Power Lily? Oh, you're asleep? And you won't wake up for another 53 seconds? That's cool.

Power Lily's problem is that she takes roughly forever to recharge. It's a weakness, as she's not exactly convenient. You're kind of on her time, and you have to be ready to scoop up her extra Plant Food when it's available. The key is teamwork. Pairing her with Imitater helps, as that way you can guarantee a healthy flow of Plant Food on your own terms. It's pretty handy in situations where you want to spam maximum Plant Food all the time on everything. Arena and Rift levels loaded up with Power Tiles are particularly susceptible to this method.

So, in conclusion, Power Lily is one of my favorite plants!

And then I guess next week will be a My Favorite Zombies. Any suggestions? At the moment I'm thinking Octo or Chicken Farmer.

Uninstalled game and don't know how to return account...

    Posted: 28 Jan 2021 03:24 AM PST

I reinstalled the game since i was having sound bugs with some screeching, very loud, would scare me and my cat, and I thought my account was saved. But when I type in my username I can't access it, and I think I had made an EU profile, but there is no login. What can I do? I was really enjoying the game, just got to Jade league and all

What year is Lost City set?

    Posted: 28 Jan 2021 01:51 AM PST

I just started playing PvZ2 years after I left off at Pirate Seas. I reached Lost City and I can't help but imagine what year/exact time period Lost City is set in.

From observation, it's set in a decaying Mayan/Aztec-ish Tikal place and the clothes of the zombies seem to be reminiscent of the Victorian to early 20th century. I should mention the use of parachutes and planes by the Lost Pilot Zombie.

Any ideas? I'm guessing WW1-era to the early interwar period...

As an aside, Valentine's Day is coming February 8. There will be a multi-day event (8 days, I thik), with thematic Pinata Parties (and corresponding thematic rewards). I'll post a list of the rewards and their probabilities when the time comes.

Also, multi-stage epic quests seem to be coming back, or at least I think I'm seeing such quests for Caulipower and Witch Hazel - but don't take this for granted, I might be mistaken and it could be the usual "do these 5 special delivery quests for 50 seeds". Yeah, I'm mistaken - the update came too late in my local time the last night and I was too sleepy.

The daily calendar (you know, where you get different gifts rotating every 7 days) will get a special week of gifts for Valentine's day.
