Pennys Pursuit - 12 hours zomboss but it adds 12 hours more? Posted: 22 Oct 2020 03:07 AM PDT Did the time change from 12 hours to 24 hours when zomboss is available to fight again? Cause I've seen the timer count down so zomboss would be available to be fought again but it added 12 more hours. [link] [comments]

My Favorite Plants with Stephen!: Shadow Peashooter (and Witch Hazel!) Posted: 21 Oct 2020 03:41 PM PDT Today's a double-episode of Shadow Peashooter and Witch Hazel since we didn't have an episode last week. Stephen's been priming his fingers, and channeling magic through the keyboard. All ready to walk us through his fav plants! Of course all the plants in My Favorite Plants are my favorite plants, but sometimes a plant can be even more favorite on top of all the already favored favoritism. Shadow Peashooter is one of those especially favored favorite plants. He's great! It doesn't hurt that he's a Shadow Plant in the Conceal-mint family. In fact, it helps -- a lot! My standard go-to in any situation is to roll in with Moonflower and Dusklobber, see how those folks handle things. Since I'm already leaning into the Conceal-mint family, it's easy to fold Shadow Peashooter in to round out the team. Unpowered, sure, he's not so great, but if you're familiar with the Conceal-mint family and know how to deploy your Moonflowers to proper effect, you get a TON out of Shadow Peashooter. Let's start with his powered shot, which is a penetrating beam rather than a projectile. Already you're getting full-lane coverage without blowback from Jester Zombies. BOOM. Frankly, that would be almost enough in itself. But add in Shadow Pea's ability to duck down and swallow incoming zombies, and now you've got solutions for All-Stars, Newspaper Zombies, Explorers... the list goes on and on. I like to keep pushing my front lines forward with Shadow Pea, planting Moonflowers up front and then defending them with Shadow Peas immediately to the right. If you're aggressive enough this can result in total carnage deep into zombie lines in the highest-scoring columns in Arena. I also love to put Shadow Peas in closer columns as well to swallow up Lost Pilots, Relic Hunters, Swashbucklers and imps thrown by Gargantuars. That one-swallow kill can turn nightmare scenarios into cool breezes and coconut drinks by the pool, safe and confident that you've got the situation HANDLED. And, of course, there's Shadow Pea's Plant Food ability, which drops a Shadow bomb right in the center of the board and does beaucoup damage everywhere. Yep. He's a total clutch player, ol' Shadow Peashooter, a real asset to any undead-dampening botanical brigade. Plus, just take a look at his little spirit-flame cowlick "hair"... it's adorable! --- Okay, for Witch Hazel I'm mostly just gonna talk about how much I love her visual design. She was the creation of one of our more talented artists, and she's just loaded up with character. The hat that covers her "eyes," the floppy "bangs" of hair, the little sparkles... she's a gem. We use Flash for our character animations, and while Flash can be a great animation tool, the way our game uses those animations makes it very challenging to do stuff with fluid, flexible things like tentacles and loops of curved hair. Witch Hazel's hair took a lot of extra time and effort, and I think it really shows. But aside from her friendly appearance, she's pretty handy on the battlefield; indeed, one of our QA leaders absolutely swears by her. Her basic move is neatly effective, as you're essentially trading a full zombie for a new plant shooter. She can't transform big bruisers like Gargantuars or Mech-cones, but she's awesome for a lot of those troubling specialty zombies like Jesters, Octo-Zombies, Excavators, Explorers and so on. She's also a specific counter for Wizard zombies, as she targets them first, which can be really helpful when Wizards are hiding out in the back being screened by other zombies. It's a bit of a climb, but if you can score the seed packets it's really worth it to level her up from 7 to 8, too, as she'll start turning zombies into Fume-shrooms instead of Puff-shrooms. You can also get her to do that temporarily if you plant some Enchant-mints, so... plant some Enchant-mints! [link] [comments]
