    Pinata Party - some probabilities

    Here are some of the probabilities of the various events related to the Pinata Parties that I've been able to figure out:

    • The probability for the coin drop to be 1000 coins (or 2000 coins during Progressive ad week) is 75%.

    • The probability for the coin drop to be 1500 coins (or 3000 coins during Progressive ad week) is 20%.

    • The probability for the coin drop to be 2500 coins (or 5000 coins during Progressive ad week) is 4%.

    • The probability for the coin drop to be 5000 coins (or 10000 coins during Progressive ad week) is 1%.

    Now, the situation with the costume drops is... complicated.

    There is a 0.1% probability for any particular costume to drop. However, there are 266 different costumes (numbered from 1 to 267 but #98 is missing). So, all other things being equal, it would mean a probability of 266 * 0.1 = 26.6% to get any costume.

    Unfortunately, all other things are not equal. :)

    To begin with, if you already have a costume, you'll never see it drop from the Pinata Party - pretty much like you'll never see it in the shop. This means that as you aquire more costumes, the probability to get one from the Pinata Party keeps dropping.

    Furthermore, some of these 266 costumes never drop (and never appear in the shop; they are basically unobtainable except by hacking).

    In addition, there are different kinds of Pinata Parties and they drop different costumes.

    The "normal" (default) Pinata Party can drop only 166 different costumes. But there are several other "event" Pinata Parties: Birthday, Feastivus, Food Fight, Halloween, Heroes, Spring, St. Patrick, Summer Nights, Timetwister, and Valentine's Day). Almost every one of them has their own set of costumes that they can drop (except St. Patrick). For instance, the Food Fight Pinata Party can drop a set of 3 costumes that are unique to it. What I still don't know is whether these special Pinata Parties can drop only the costumes that are unique to them - or whether they can drop these unique costumes in addition to the costumes that the default Pinata Party can drop.

    Other things that I still don't know:

    • What are the probabilities to win seed packets of various sizes - 3 or 5 (or 10 and 25 whenever those are available)?

    • What indicates the rewards for the current Pinata Party?

    • What indicates which is the current Pinata Party?
