Can someone explain how toadstools sun production work? I thought it would produce 75 sun after eating a zombie at level 8 but it doesn't (its only 50). In the almanac the sun production had increased a bit when i leveled it up.

It's late, but I came up with a good strategy for 3 chilli zomboss.

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 03:20 AM PST

After getting my butt kicked and leaning on Zen Garden to get Goldbloom seeds, I came up with a strategy which does not require external resources:

    • Ice Bloom (lvl 5) forced pick
    • Bowling Bulb (lvl 4) to kill Zomboss
    • Lightning Reed (lvl 4) to kill chickens, essential
    • Explode-o-nut (lvl 5) to block and kill Consultants
    • Appeasemint (lvl 2) not essential but available right now

You shouldn't need those plant lvls, Bowling Bulb 3 is more than likely enough. Explode-o-nut is really good against Consultants but can probably be replaced with Primal Walnut as a bad substitute, or some fast recharge defensive/stun plant boosted by Zen Garden (like Chard Guard, Iceberg Lettuce or even Kernel Pult), stunned zombies will die to BB okay.

I don't think the perk matters, but I use the stall or boss buster perk.

    STRATEGY:

Plant 3 Lightning Reeds in the back, 5 Explode-o-nuts walling off the front and spend rest of sun on Bowling Bulb.

Then replace your 3 Lightning Reeds and Explode-o-nuts if they get destroyed but otherwise just plant Bowling Bulbs. Try to keep Appeasemint up as much as possible using PF, you can harvest more gems this way. Use Icebloom to block Zomboss charges (if you fail just get LR back up ASAP to kill chickens) and freeze things if zombies get thrown in the back.

My Favorite Plants with Stephen!: Gold Bloom!

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 11:32 AM PST

Stephen's back to his old habits of stories, insights and banter this time about Gold Bloom. Enjoy the first episode for this year of 'Favorite Plants' with the venerable Stephen Notley!

All right, no beating around the bloom, here. When friends and family ask me which Premium Plant they should pick up first, I say "Gold Bloom" without hesitation. The reason is because Plants vs. Zombies, at its core, is a real-time strategy game, and RTSs (as they're abbreviated) are alllllll about the economy.

In PvZ, the economy is based around sun. Sun gets converted into plants, plants do damage to zombies, and the player's job is to do enough damage to the zombies to stop any of them from getting into the house to slobber all over the tasty thinkslop cowering within. The zombies attack in waves, so it's crucial to make sure that enough sun is converted into damage to hold them back. Any way a player can get ahead of the curve by converting sun into zombie-damage early is going to be of enormous benefit. Curiously, (or maybe not so curiously, given that Gold Bloom is the subject of this week's My Favorite Plants), Gold Bloom does exactly that!

I take Gold Bloom into any skirmish I can. Being able to get defense and offense and general sun production going as fast as possible is the single biggest determinant of victorious battle. Get out ahead of the zombie economy, measured in zombies per zombie, and everything else is just tactics. Allow zombies to put pressure on at the start, though, and worlds of problems will open up and get worse as the conflict proceeds. Nobody wants that to happen, which is why Gold Bloom is, while not indispensable, one of the handiest plants in the game. If I could throw a surprise party for Gold Bloom, with streamers and balloons and big cakes without zombies in them, I would. But I can't, so I'll settle for ranting and raving here. Gold Bloom is great! Good job, Gold Bloom! All our brains salute you!

How else can you play PvZ and PvZ2??

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 01:21 AM PST

For a long time I've only thought you could play PvZ and PvZ2 on steam and iPhone, but I've seen Chinese PvZ and all kinds of variations but I don't know how people play them and I think a lot of people new to this subreddit share the same question.

Foot soldier and peashooter fer smash.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2021 08:31 PM PST

Plants vs zombies battle for neighborville: peashooter and foot soldier for smash for smash.

    Peashooter defends your brainz

I has done the thing that no being has done during the second year of quarantine, yes I know this is cringe yes I know this wouldn't work in smash yes I know sakurai likes sword fighters.

But behold two weird and wacky characters one from the plants and one from the zombiez.

    Enjoy!

    Peashooters sprint from bfn

Peashooter enters the arena by popping from the dirt flinging dust and grass everywhere.

Parry: wall nut appears then disappears

Spot dodge: short hops and spins in place

Foward dodge: jumps a short distance foward

Backward dodge: jumps a short distance backward.

Air doges: front flips or back flips.

Jab: peashooter thrusts is right pod then left pod foward, then finishes it with him lunging is head forward to finish.

Crouch attack: shoots a pea at the floor diagonally from him splashing a small area, if used near the ledge would be just shooting diagonally into the abyss. uses 1 ammo

F-tilt: back hands the air with his pod arms

Up-tilt: shoots a pea directly into the air but uses up 1 ammo.

Dash attack: peashooter pulls out a lawn mower which at high percents can ground people.

Neutral-air: peashooter spreads arms leaves and head out spinning knocking people back.

fair, shoots 1 of many types of pea's from his variants to from a normal pea a fully charged plasma pea. Consumes 1 pea

Bair, peashooter turns around and shoots large pea from any of his variants but bigger. Consumes 2 peas.

Up air, shoots a pea from any of his variants Consumes 1 pea.

Dair, drills downward like wario's if you drill just right you can spike.

    —————————

forward smash: peashooter kazoo noises loudly which then citron appears, citron starts spinning in place rapidly (charging) until you let go which peashooter moves out of the way and citron rolls forward. Of course this has ending lag as peashooter has to quickly move back into position and at the end of the dash citron winks at the screen and warps home.

Up smash: again peashooter moves again this time backwards as chomper unburrows and chomps 2 times upwards swift but violent. missing will result in endinglag

If the opponent is at a high percentage like %158 Chomper greedily swallows them killing them instantly. after that you can see the character arm sticking out of chompers mouth, chomper then Swallows the rest of the food and warps home. when chomper is chewing peashooter has to mash buttons fast to get chomper to swallow the rest because it leaves peashooter vulnerable. Missing the move resulting in more ending lag.

Down smash: peashooter makes himself slim as organically possible and two squashes on either side of him come down and pound the opponent into a pancake. If used near a ledge the squash would fall until it despawns. Think of squash as thwomp but plant.

    ——————————————

Passive: any attack plant related won't damage and knockback peashooter that much, same if peashooter is attacking someone like piranha plant. (That counts with reflects too.) anything zombie or spooky related will receive more knock back and damage.

    ——————————-

    specials

Neutral B: shoots peas as you would expect when you run out or just want to reload press sheild + B to reload. Tip: the closer your are to a person the more damage you deal, farther away less damage. Peas move very fast. Each pea consumes 1 ammo. Peas deal splash damage.

The last pea is a pea (in the ammo clip) from any of his variants Like toxic or even rock pea.

Side B: chili bean bomb, throws a deadly bomb towards enemies exploding into a mushroom cloud and dealing high damage and knock back, consumes 5 peas. Blast radius size of a battlefield plat form and a half.

Details: 3 different hit boxes, top of the mushroom cloud send opponent's straight up high knock back but low damage. Does about 22 damage.

The middle or the ring sends opponents flying horizontally. Dealing medium amount of damage. 46 damage.

The bottom: sucks opponents into middle or top of the mushroom cloud depending on their percentage. If hit in midair it will meteor spike. deals the most damage 66 damage.

Use side B but hold B this will charge chili bean and allow to spit it further this will increase amount of seconds it takes to explode by 2 seconds you can then aim up or down with the joystick.

Down B: pea Gatling, root yourself in position gaining a bit of super armor then look around with the joystick and hold B to fire.

Details although this doesn't stun or make the enemy flinch it can do a lot of damage quickly.

It shreds shields fast leading to sheild breaks

You now have 100 ammo but this isn't the primary ammo this is mini pea ammo you get mini pea ammo by hitting opponents. You get 10 mini pea ammo every hit you cause.

UP B: pea suped, peashooter jumps super high then his leaves sprout outwards as like a helicopter and slowly descends ( this recovery is similar to dk as it's great horizontally but unlike dk he jumps very high vertically then starts horizontally) when in like a helicopter you can damage people under you, you can also go back and forth quickly or pair it with dair to drill opponents into the blast zone. Consumes 3 peas

    —————————-

    Grabs

peashooter will rush forward hold is right pod out and summon a spike weed which will hold the opponent in place. A random plant like sunflower or snapdragon or even oak will wait there as well

Pummel peashooter commands spike weed to start lashing its thorny vines around the enemy.

F-throw: peashooter spits a cherry bomb which launches opponents foward.

B-throw: night cap appears and kicks the opponent in the back launching them backwards.

Up throw, garlic drone lifts the opponent up and a potato mine grows underneath them, garlic drone then drops them onto it triggering it. Launching them straight upwards.

Down throw, the random plant that appears is now activated. when you use down throw you have 5 seconds to use any of their 3 abilities from battle for neighborville. From stunning them with empeach, to turning them into a goat from rose, or maybe releasing a devastating big bulb barrage. Or even fung fu. But some might be useless.

    https://youtu.be/uMcPjUpqCPU

Take a look at these abilities.

    ———————————————

Foot soldier wants to eat your brainz

    Foot soldiers sprint in bfn

Echo fighter to peashooter with the only difference is that this guy uses zombies to help him attack and most of his moves uses his weapons.

Foot soldier enters like peashooter except breaks through a grave stone like in pvz heroes.

    Parry: dummy appears and disappears.

Spot dodge: holdes is rifle in front of him

Foward backwards dodges: jumps a short distance

Air dodges: faces his zpg towards the camera.

Jab: foot soldier scratches with both of his hands like 1,2 and munches on who ever he scratched resulting in %3 health being healed.

Crouch attack: foot soldier sneezes resulting in snot being flung downwards diagonally. Can kill someone in high percents( he's allergic to the ground)

f-tilt: uses is grabs his primary weapon by the front and swings it once.

up-tilt: a blast of smoke from the red part of the zpg pushing players upward. while rapidly damaging them.

Dash attack: foot soldier blast's himself foward knocking people out of the way. 10 ammo

Nuetral air: like peashooter's except that he doesn't spin and just sticks his arms and legs out in every direction.

fair: takes his primary weapon and whacks it downward, hit it in the right spot and you get a spike.

bair: grabs his zpg and swings it horizontally.

up air: sticks his gun in the air and shoots in the upward. Consumes 8 ammo

dair: zpg malfunctions and a black smoke is let out and then Catches a flame hit it right and you get a spike.

    ——————————————-

    Smash attacks

Foward smash: all star appears and foot soldier moves out of the way letting all star rush foward dealing with anything that comes in his path. Ending lag as foot soldier has to move back in position.

Up smash A barrel suddenly appears and blows up sending opponents into the air from the explosion captain deadbeard appears waves and warps home. Ending lag on that too.

Down smash Foot soldier hugs himself and two space cadets on either side of him appear above when the smash attack is release they use gravity smash a crush anything beneath them. If the opponent get hit dead center of either one they get grounded, if used on a ledge they will fall into the abyss. Lots of ending lag. ————————————

passive: anything zombie or spooky related won't damage or knock back foot soldier as much and vise versa. Anything plant related he will deal even more knock back and damage to.

    —————————

    Specials

Neutral B: like peashooter, foot soldier has ammo 40 ammo he has and that is because he has a rapid fire weapon called the z-1 assault blaster. sheild+B to reload although it doesn't disrupt any attack just really used to rack up damage and such some attacks require some ammo to use like some of his basic attacks as well as his specials.

Up B: rocket jumps into the air gaining super armor on his way up. If charged you can be sent higher or if you hold foward while preforming it you can rocket leap which you don't travel as high but travel a far distance anyone near at launch will be launched due to the launch.

side-B: throw a super stink cloud which sticks on to enemy's and deals damage to them quickly if they try to sheild it will damage the sheild greatly. Consumes 15 ammo.

Down B, zpg, fire an highly explosive and deadly rocket. Holding down B charge the zpg making it travel faster. Takes 6 seconds to charge to max. Once max charged the zpg buttons will start to rapidly blink and glow to indicate its max charged! A max charged rocket fired will result into a sheild break. If a max rocket is fired at someone grounded it will obliterate them. if it's max charged you can launch it in mid air. Consumes 30 ammo.

    Spammed rocket: 25 damage.

    Max rocket 75 damage.

But of starting lag as foot soldier has to bend down.

    Warning can be reflected.

    —————————

    Grabs

Foot soldier dashes foward grabs the opponent by the arm then arms from the ground rise up and hold them in place.

Pummel: zombie arms start scratching and squeezing to try and get their brains.

Foward throw: foot soldier grabs their entire being shoves it in his zpg and fires them out like a cannon. (If the zpg is max charged you will launch them further.)

Back throw: z-mech appears grabs the person and yeets them back where they came from.

Up throw: engineer comes by places a bounce pad and they get launched upward, if you manage to kill them engineer will stay and shake his cheeks at the camera before forcibly warping home.

Down throw: a random zombie will apear and you will get 5 seconds to pick an ability to use on their opponents. forgot to mention this is risky as people can just mash out but it is funny when you pull it off.

if you get someone like imp and z-mech or oak and acorn you have six abilities to choose from.

    ———————————————

Taunts: these relate to the bfn emotes.

    foot soldier: Woo hoo!

    Peashooter: taunt stretch

    Foot soldier: foot check

Peashooter: high fives with a random plant

Foot soldier: high fives with a random zombie. —————————-

    FINAL SMASH

The opponent is launched in between both sides like from the trailer both plants and zombies quickly close in on them result in a massive brawl the cutscene ends with a big explosion from z-mech.

    ———————————-

Jesus Christ that took me the entire day but anyway's here are my ideas hope you liked them and found them intriguing and yeah that's it.

I go eat Mac n cheese now.
