    [New World Idea] Arabian Nights

    Posted: 05 May 2020 03:28 AM PDT

I've seen some posts about world ideas and I thought to join in with the fun. I had this idea for a few years now but I never posted it on Reddit. Also, sorry for the wall of text. Anyway:

    Arabian Nights

"Visit a fabled bazaar in a faraway and mystical land where the zombies haggle the price of brains. Can the plants outbid the sandy undead?"

    The lawn

The lawn takes place on a bazaar with stalls selling spices, silks, food, pottery, etc. with the lawn covered with sand. The background is full of typical buildings, having a desert and a palace behind that, and the night sky with a crescent moon.

The player's house is a stereotypical building between the other buildings; it stands out. The side of the zombies is a gate that leads to the palace in the background; the gate is open.

The lawnmowers are wicker baskets on wheels with swords going through them. This is based on the acts performed by magicians/street performers known as the Indian Basket Trick. A person steps into the basket and then another person slides swords through it.

    Gimmicks

This world takes place at nighttime so no sun is falling. But the world's real gimmick are the relics on the lawn: when a zombie walks or a plant is planted on a tile with one, they are encased in it and trapped. However, relics may be hiding underneath the sand so it is never certain which tiles are safe. Relics that are revealed come in three colors: yellow, green, and purple; containing 100 suns, a plant, or a zombie respectively. When a relic is out in the open, it can be destroyed by damaging it. Destroyed relics free what is trapped inside, be it suns, a plant, or zombie. Relics absorb 700 DPS (the same as tombstones).

    Ambush

Zombies may ambush the player with this world's ''Spell Breakers''. Purple relics (those with zombies in them) break open and the zombies are freed. Similar to Necromancy, when there aren't any relics, purple relics may just spawn, break open, and release zombies. They may even spawn on tiles with plants, moving them to other tiles just like tombstone can do in the Dark Ages.

    Brain Buster

''Market Crash'' is this world's Brain Buster. The player may choose any plant except for sun-producing plants. After selecting the plants, random colored relics pop up at random tiles, more purple ones than yellow and green ones. Before any zombie spawns and the player being able to plant any plants, they get the choice to plant a certain amount of Lithops. They can choose from three colors (yellow, green, and purple), having more purple Lithops than yellow and green ones.

Once the player planted enough Lithops to their liking (they may shovel them up and get that Lithop back), they can tap a Lithop and a wave starts; zombies spawn and the player can start planting their chosen plants. However, as soon as the player tapped that Lithop, for each matched Lithop, a corresponding relic will break. This makes more zombies spawn when the player matched purple Lithops but produce more sun (since the player has more of them), or makes the player produce extra sun when choosing to match yellow Lithops (since yellow relics produce 100 suns when destroyed), or they choose to free random plants in the hope they come in useful. Also, as soon as the player taps that Lithop, all none corresponding relics disappear. The player may choose to plant all the Lithops immediately and collect their sun but then they won't carry over.

After a wave ends, no zombies spawn, more random colored relics pop up and the player is unable to plant any of their chosen plants. The player may plant a certain amount of Lithops plus the ones that are carried over. Tapping a Lithop starts another wave, etc.

    Endless Zone

Test your skill in this world's endless zone, "The Grave of Wonders".

    Zomboss Battle

Takedown Zomboss's latest invention: the "Zombot Bird R.O.C. 1,001". It can use its enchanted wings to create a strong whirlwind that pulls in plants and zombies in two rows, destroying them when they enter it. The attack is stopped by using plant food on a plant that can attack the Zombot or by Dispel Date's plant food ability. Like the other Zombots, it spawns zombies and launches missiles. These missiles can trap the targeted plants in relics. Missiles targeting on empty tiles always spawn purple relics.
